Spiral plate heat exchanger

Spiral heat exchanger is a type of heat exchanger in which two parallel metal plates are rolled into two spiral channels, and the cold and hot fluids exchange heat through the walls of the spiral plates. Spiral plate heat exchangers come in two types: detachable and non-detachable.

  • Product Description
  • What is a spiral plate heat exchanger?

Spiral plate heat exchangers feature a simple yet precise structure. They’re fabricated by winding two or four long thin metal plates around a single center, with distance columns welded between plates—forming two or four fully independent spiral flow channels (rectangular cross-section).
Constructed from metals with good weldability and cold-forming properties, available materials include carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy steel.
    Key specifications:
    Operating pressure: Up to 4.0Mpa
    Operating temperature: Up to 400℃
    Spiral plate width: 300mm – 2000mm
    Flow channel spacing: 5mm – 30mm

  • Structure and performance of spiral heat exchangers

Superior Heat Transfer: Formed by two coiled plates, creating two uniform spiral channels. Two heat transfer media flow in full countercurrent, greatly enhancing heat exchange efficiency—even suitable for media with small temperature differences.
Low Resistance & High Flow Rate: Tangential nozzles on the shell minimize local resistance. Uniform curvature of spiral channels avoids sharp turns, reducing overall resistance. This allows higher design flow rates for enhanced heat transfer capacity.
Type I (Non-Removable): Welded seals on the end faces of spiral channels ensure excellent tightness.
Type II (Semi-Removable): Same basic structure as Type I, but one channel is detachable for cleaning. Ideal for heat exchange of viscous or sediment-containing fluids.
Type III (Fully Removable): Shares the core design of non-removable models, with both channels detachable for cleaning. Offers broad application versatility.
Multiple Unit Combination: When a single unit can’t meet requirements, multiple units can be combined, following these rules: Parallel combination, Series combination (ensure same equipment and channel spacing); Mixed combination (one channel parallel, one channel series).
